Oils For Meditation

Meditation is an important aspect for me to keep my sanity and to connect with the Divine. As always, there are oils that can help facilitate this process. Connecting with Spirituality / Divinity also facilitates finding your purpose on this planet, it also allows for your higher self to guide you through life. That way, it can help define your vision.

Some of my favorite oils for this are Frankincense, Palo Santo and Hong Kuai.

frankincense Laminate You might have heard of Frankincense from the biblical times. Not only is this fabulous for meditation, it is an amazing immune booster as well as supports the skin. It is also great for visualization ( if you are into things like that)

I love applying it to the base of my brain stem. Another favorite use is to apply it to my son’s spine when he is having a hard moment. Try it if you have a toddler figuring out emotions :)

Palo Santo has very quickly become one of my palo-santo favorites. It is also known as a spiritual oil. It not only facilitates spiritual development, but also is known for its emotionally grounding properties.

I apply it on my heart center when my emotional system needs some love.

The last one is Hong Kuai. I have personally not used it as yet and I am very excited to try it soon.

It has been used for centuries for temples and shrines. It has one of the most highest content of sesquiterpenes. It helps with clarity, confidence and transformation.

You can read more about it from Dr. Cole Woolley who is a scientist, researcher and write.

Young Living October 2016 Promotion

One of the reasons I love Young Living as a company is because of the generous gifts they give to members. Take October for instance, there are so many awesome promotions this month, that I am almost overwhelmed in figuring out how to write about it.

First of all, they have included a new tier of promotion for spending 100PV ( basically equals to the $) which is brand new. Secondly, I love that you get the Thieves household cleaner (a must in every household if you want to go toxin free) and Thieves Fruit and Vege Spray and Dryer balls + more

OctPromotionTier

I wanted to describe what each of these products can do.

Lavender Vitality: I love adding Lavender Vitality to my Lemonade or Fruit smoothie. It is a great way to support all body systems. One of my favorite uses is to add to a capsule for seasonal discomfort.

Palo Santo: It is a plant from South America that has been used by the Incas to cleanse and purify negative energies. It is great for spiritual development and calming the nerves. Another wonderful use that I discovered is to add it to my camping spray to have a pest free outdoor experience.

Clove Vitality: Clove is wonderful for supporting the immune system and overall wellness. It is fabulous to support oral health and adding a drop to honey can soothe your throat.

Thieves Fruit and Vegetable Spray: These days, even organic produce has residue in them. Spraying your fruits and vegetables especially when on the go can have you eating them in no time after a quick rinse. It is super effective as it has the combination of Thieves Oils + Lime Oil.

Wool Dryer Balls: Now, why can’t we just use the dryer sheets instead. The popular dyer sheets have endocrine disruptors. Read this article by Huffington Post on common household items that contain estrogen mimicking chemicals that disrupt hormones. Use wool dryer balls – add a drop of Lavender or Purification EO to it and see your clothes comes out super clean :)

Thieves Household Cleaner: You can get the squeaky clean without dangerous chemicals or synthetic ingredients. We have replaced this for all the cleaning supplies we have at home. It is super concentrated so it lasts a long time. I love non toxic cleaning supplies for the same reasons as why I WILL NOT use dyer sheets. With the skin being the largest organ which will absorb everything that it comes in contact with, I am very particular about what I use at home including cleaning supplies.

Having a small child at home, I never have to worry about whether he will get into my cleaning cabinet because even if he does, it is super safe.

For current members of YL, we have another great opportunity to get Free Gifts. If you have never been on Essential Rewards (which is the monthly autoship program allowing you to get points for all the essentials that you might normally buy – you can cash that for most products) you can get Thieves, Lemon and Digize for placing an ER order for just 100PV.

ERPromo

Thieves EO: Can’t live without Thieves in our home. We use this every day for boosting our immune system.

Lemon EO: It is super cleansing and is one of the most versatile oils I have known other than Lavender.

Digize EO: It is a blend that is helpful in regulating your  digestive system and for overall wellbeing.

Camping Spray

It is that time of the year again and being outdoors is something our family enjoys a lot. What I am sure no human enjoys is being the target of our friends who live outdoors – yes, I mean mosquitoes and other critters.

Here are a few versions of sprays I have tested on my family.

Version 1

10 drops – Citronella Essential Oil
10 drops – Lavender Essential Oil
10 drops – Peppermint Essential Oil
10 drops – Lemongrass or Eucalyptus Essential Oil
1-2 oz – Witch Hazel
Distilled water or Carrier Oil like Grape seed Oil or Coconut oil

Citronella

Take a glass spray bottle, combine all the above essential oils. Add a little witch hazel to it. Fill that rest with distilled water. And it is ready for use. Spray liberally on clothes and on the skin. As always, be careful near the eyes

You can also make the same using a roller bottle. Combine all the essential oils. Don’t add witch hazel or distilled water. Just fill the rest with the carrier oil like grape seed oil or coconut oil. Apply it behind your neck or any exposed skin.

Version 2

MosquitoSpray

Version 3

This is the spray that I have made for repelling ticks.

15 drops Citronella
15 drops Peppermint
15 drops Thyme
15 drops Palo Santo
10 drops Purification
2-4 oz Witch Hazel
2-4 oz Distilled Water
8 oz Glass Spray Bottle

palo-santo

Just combine all the Essential Oils in the spray bottle. Add witch hazel and distilled water and it is ready to go. Spray liberally on your clothes and skin. It is safe to use on babies. Last year when my son was only 6 months old in the sumer, we used this on hiking trips. This year, we will hopefully use on a camping trip.

Thyme

If you find a tick lodged into your skin, put a drop of Palo Santo on the tick to have it back off. It will most likely die. Apply Lavender, Purification and Peppermint on the site.
